Wayne County is situated in the north east corner of Pennsylvania, sharing a border with New York State. It was formed in 1798 from part of Northampton County and was named for the Revolutionary War General Anthony Wayne. It is home to almost 52,000 residents and is located in the northern section of the Pocono Mountains with its highest elevation is Mount Ararat at 2,659 ft. in Orson.

The Hideout is in the Western Wayne school district. It has two elementary school, a middle, and a high school. They offer a full complement of scholastic as well as athletic opportunities for their students competing in the Lackawanna conference.
